About

I've spent the last five years in infrastructure and security, most of it at Bahrain's National Cyber Security Center. My team supports the security teams by doing the hands-on infrastructure work: AWS, Cisco networks, Webex, and the Windows, Linux and Active Directory estate that ties them together.

Before NCSC, I was an information security analyst at the Mohammed bin Khalifa Cardiac Centre.

Off the clock: road trips, working on cars, scuba diving, and a homelab that keeps growing.

Experience

  1. Senior Infrastructure Operations Specialist

    National Cyber Security Center, Bahrain

    February 2025 to present (retitled from Senior Cyber Security Specialist in November 2025)

    • Administer AWS environments, from design and deployment through day-to-day operations.
    • Led enterprise network projects spanning campus network automation, network access control and next-generation firewalls.
    • Designed and deployed a Webex Calling solution with a local gateway for SIP trunking and failover.
    • Provide hands-on infrastructure support to the security teams across cloud, network and systems.

  2. Cyber Security Specialist

    National Cyber Security Center, Bahrain

    August 2022 to February 2025

    • Led the infrastructure workstream for NCSC's ongoing effort to become a Qualified Trust Services Provider.
    • Administered multiple AWS accounts: design, deployment and monitoring of applications and infrastructure.
    • Ran day-to-day network operations: maintenance, troubleshooting, monitoring and new hardware.
    • Deployed and administered Windows and Linux servers.
    • Documented network and infrastructure designs, configurations and IP address allocations.

  3. Information Security Analyst

    Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Cardiac Centre, Royal Medical Services

    June 2021 to March 2022

    • Led the hospital's information security and cybersecurity projects.
    • Kept security systems correctly configured and patched, and responded to their alerts.

Homelab

Since 2018 I've run a custom-built Unraid server at home with more than 30 self-hosted services. Every service is a Docker Compose stack kept in Git. Nothing is exposed through open ports, and every login from the internet needs a passkey.
